The city of San Jose hired The Portico Group to re-design Happy Hollow Park and Zoo into an engaging experience inspired by the original quirky fairy-tale nature of the 50 year old park.  Traveling along “The Road from Here to There,” children are drawn into a bright world where they get to jump like a lemur, climb into the tops of a Redwood, or be a firefighter on the newly-restored Mini Putt Putt ride; all while visiting the very first amusement park and zoo to be LEED Gold certified in the United States. Responsibilities: Detailing, structural and architectural coordination, concept designs, design development, construction documents, client presentations, and on-site survey coordination.
